Medicare Deductible for Part B services for 2021 is $ 203.
Medicare reimbursement threshold for 2021 is $ 2110 for physical therapy
and speech therapy services combined.
You may continue to receive physical therapy treatment above the
threshold amount if your PHYSICAL THERAPIST determines that your therapy is MEDICALLY NECESSARY.
Medicare considers treatment to be medically necessary ONLY when a patient is showing SIGNIFICANT PROGRESS in a REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME.
Medicare does not pay for therapy that maintains a patient at their current level of pain or dysfunction. There must be documentable progress.
The exception is for patients diagnosed with a degenerative neuromuscular disease.
